About Temple
Temple History
About 130 years ago our forefathers separated from the old Vangal Amman Temple and built new Vangal Amman Temple naming the deity, Mother Goddess as Arulmigu Pudhuvangal Amman and established the temple. There are about 6000 families of people belonging to our clan, PudhuVangal Temple, spread over the districts of Karur, Namkal, Dindukal, Madhurai, Kovai, Salem and Erode. This is the fifth generation of families belong to the new temple.
After a long gap, in 1979 the PudhuVangal Amman Temple was rejuvenated and MahaKumbhabishiekam had been performed in grant manner. This was first Kumbhabiskeham in Kongu Kudipattukara temples or Kulathaiva temple, is a great pride for all of us.
The temple was without RajaGopuram, the basement was with out good strength and the Mahamandapam were without maintenance. All these were considered and calculated to repair and rejuvenate the temple with stone carving and with a large estimated cost, the ‘Palayam’ was performed on 5.10.2003. The talented stone carving expert Mr.A.L.Ramachandran sathapathi-architect was specified the above said ‘Thirupani’ work of the temple considering the welfare of our future generation. We also plan to extend premise of the temple and all these Thirupani Work will be finished and Kumbhabisheka would be performed on January 2008 to March 2008(Tamil calendar Sharvajit year Thai or Masi)with the our prayer and devotion to SriPudhuVangal Amman.
Now, our Perungudi clan people live in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra, Karnata and in other countries like Malasyia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and America.
We request all Varuguna Perungudi people to pay their family temple tax Rs 3000 and donate generously for the ‘Temple Thirupani’.
